Short answer: Zapier has four plans in 2026 — Free ($0, 100 tasks/month), Professional (from $19.99/month, billed annually), Team (from $69/month, billed annually), and custom Enterprise. Everything is priced by tasks — and as of 2026 that now includes AI steps, code and SDK actions too. Month-to-month billing costs about 33% more than annual. The number that actually decides your bill isn't the sticker price — it's how many tasks your Zaps burn.

Zapier pricing at a glance (2026)

|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0/mo | 100 tasks/mo | Trying Zapier, tiny automations |
| Professional | from $19.99/mo | Scales via slider (750+) | Individuals & power users |

| Enterprise | Custom | Custom / annual limits | Large orgs, governance & SSO |
How Zapier pricing actually works: tasks
Zapier bills by tasks. A task is every action step your Zap successfully completes after the trigger — the trigger itself is free. So a Zap that "when a form is submitted → add a row → send a Slack message → send an email" uses three tasks per run.
The 2026 change to know about: Zapier now applies the same task-based model to AI steps, code steps and the SDK — actions that used to be metered differently now count as tasks like everything else [Zapier pricing]. That makes usage simpler to predict, but it also means AI and code steps now eat into your task budget.
tasks/month ≈ (action steps per Zap) × (times it runs)
A 4-step Zap running 100 times a day uses roughly 4 × 100 × 30 = 12,000 tasks a month — well past the entry tiers. This is the single biggest reason Zapier bills surprise people: multi-step, high-frequency Zaps multiply fast. Budget by steps-times-runs, not by "number of Zaps."
Every Zapier plan in plain English
Free — $0/month
Start automating with AI, Zap workflows, Tables and Forms — capped at 100 tasks per month. Genuinely useful for testing Zapier and running one or two light automations, but 100 tasks disappear quickly once a Zap runs daily. Multi-step Zaps are limited here. See our full Zapier Free plan guide for exactly what's included and the two-step limit.
Professional — from $19.99/month (annual)
Unlocks the full Zapier platform: unlimited access to Zap workflows, Tables and Forms, multi-step Zaps, and premium apps. The $19.99 is the entry price; you pick your monthly task allowance on a slider and the price rises with it. This is the plan most serious individual users land on.
Team — from $69/month (annual)
Everything in Professional plus collaboration: unlimited users, shared Zaps and connections, and central management of your AI-powered systems. Priced from $69/month and scales with tasks. The jump from Professional exists to buy collaboration, not just more volume.
Enterprise — custom
For large organisations: unlimited users, advanced admin permissions and app controls, advanced deployment, annual task limits, observability, a Technical Account Manager, and priority support with screen sharing. Pricing is quote-only.
Zapier AI Agent pricing — what's included vs an add-on
This is where people get confused, so here's the honest breakdown as of 2026:
- AI agents you build into a Zap workflow are now included in your plan — they run on the same task-based pricing as any other step. You don't pay a separate subscription to add AI actions to a Zap [Zapier pricing].
- Zapier's standalone products — Agents and Chatbots — are separate paid add-ons, listed apart from the core Platform plans. If you want the dedicated Agents or Chatbots product (not just AI steps inside a Zap), that's an extra line item on top of your plan.
If you saw older guides saying "Zapier AI Agents cost $33.33/month as an add-on" — that framing is now out of date for agents built into Zaps, which are included. Only the standalone Agents/Chatbots products are add-ons.
The hidden costs of Zapier
- Every action step is a task. Multi-step Zaps and frequent triggers multiply your task use (see the formula above). This is the #1 hidden cost.
- AI and code steps now count as tasks too (the 2026 model) — AI-heavy Zaps burn tasks faster than before.
- Monthly billing costs ~33% more than annual — pay monthly and you're paying a premium.
- Standalone Agents and Chatbots are extra on top of your plan.
- Task overages force an upgrade. Cross your allowance and you move up the slider (or plan) — costs step up, not smoothly.
Upgrade triggers — when you outgrow each plan
- Free → Professional: the moment a Zap runs regularly (100 tasks vanish fast) or you need multi-step Zaps and premium apps.
- Professional → Team: when more than one person needs to build or own Zaps, or you need shared connections and central control.
- Team → Enterprise: when you need SSO, advanced permissions, observability, annual task pooling, or a named account manager.
Which Zapier plan should I choose?
- Just testing automation → Free. 100 tasks is enough to prove one workflow.
- A solo founder or power user running several Zaps → Professional, sized to your realistic monthly tasks. Start low on the slider and move up with measured usage.
- A team sharing automations → Team, for unlimited users and shared ownership.
- A large org with compliance needs → Enterprise.
Who should NOT buy this plan?
- Don't buy Professional if your Zaps are multi-step and high-frequency and cost is your main worry — Zapier's per-task model gets expensive at volume. A per-run or per-credit tool is usually cheaper (see below).
- Don't buy Team just for more tasks — if you only need volume (not collaboration), a higher Professional task tier or a cheaper platform is better value.
- Don't stay on Free if a Zap is business-critical — 100 tasks and limited steps will throttle you at the worst moment.
Worked pricing examples
| Your workflow | Approx tasks/mo | Zapier reality |
|---|---|---|
| 1 simple 2-step Zap, runs a few times a day | ~150–300 | Professional entry (~$19.99/mo annual) |
| Lead flow: 5-step Zap, 2,000 leads/mo | ~10,000 | Higher Professional task tier — think $70–100+/mo |
| Team running many multi-step Zaps | 50,000+ | Team plan, several hundred $/mo |
Zapier vs Make vs n8n on price
Three different meters decide the winner: Zapier bills per task (each step), Make bills per credit (each module action, at a much lower unit cost), and n8n bills per execution (one whole workflow run, no matter how many steps). For multi-step or high-frequency work, Zapier is usually the most expensive of the three — which is exactly why cost-conscious builders look elsewhere:
- Zapier vs Make (2026) — the head-to-head; Make is typically 3–5× cheaper at volume.

- Best Zapier alternatives (2026) — cheaper, honest picks if the task bill is the problem.
Verdict: is Zapier worth the price?
For ease and app coverage, yes — Zapier remains the fastest way to connect the most apps with the least effort, and the Free plan is a real place to start. But its per-task pricing punishes exactly the multi-step, high-frequency automations people build as they get serious. If ease matters most and volume is modest, Zapier earns its price. If your bill is climbing because of tasks, that's your signal to compare — Make (credits) and n8n (executions) do the same work for less at volume.

Worried about the task bill? Make does the same multi-step work at a far lower unit cost — from $9/month with a free tier.

Frequently asked questions
What is a Zapier task?
A task is one action step your Zap completes after the trigger. A 3-action Zap uses 3 tasks per run; the trigger is free. In 2026, AI steps, code and SDK actions also count as tasks.
How much does Zapier cost in 2026?
Zapier has a free plan with 100 tasks per month. Paid plans (billed annually) start at $19.99/month for Professional and $69/month for Team, both scaling with the tasks you choose. Enterprise is custom. Month-to-month billing is about 33% higher.
How many tasks does the free plan include?
The Free plan includes 100 tasks per month, plus Zap workflows, Tables and Forms — enough to test Zapier or run a couple of light automations.
Do Zapier AI agents cost extra?
AI agents you build into a Zap workflow are included in your plan and run on task-based pricing. Zapier's standalone Agents and Chatbots products are separate paid add-ons.
How many Zapier tasks do I need?
Estimate tasks as action steps per Zap times how often each Zap runs. A 4-step Zap running hourly uses roughly 2,900 tasks a month; the same Zap every few minutes can exceed 40,000.
Is Zapier cheaper than Make or n8n?
Usually no at volume. Zapier charges per task (each step), Make per credit at a lower unit cost, and n8n per full execution. For multi-step or high-frequency automations, Make and n8n are typically cheaper. See our Zapier vs Make comparison.
